How Does Credit Repair Organization Act Help You?

Today credit repair has become a very big business and there are many people who will work hard and diligently to help you improve on your credit.

As with any firm of business, there are those unscrupulous individuals who will always try to make extra money through devious ways. They are unprepared and may sometimes not know anything about repairing credit but are there taking your money and not helping you one bit.

Hector Milla Editor of the “Best Credit Repair Agencies” website — http://www.BestCreditRepairAgencies.com — pointed out;

“…Due to these reasons the Congress made an act to ensure that there were clear, reasonable and simply mediatory guidelines on what the credit repair could do and not do when in business with you. This is the Credit Repair Organizations Act. This act shows how the companies may charge a client, the terms to stipulate and when you can request a refund after you have began the business…”

The Credit Repair Organizations act protects the client from bad business practices and offers a level operating ground for the credit repair industry. Although there are many firms that have tried to circumvent this provision of the law and its application, it is true that you are much safer today than some years ago.

Most of the genuine companies will without any complaint work hard by the law to ensure that they provide you with the required services.

It is important to note that credit repair is a legal business activity and the fact that a law exists that polices the industry and overrides all the naysayers especially some credit literature that tends to suggest that hiring a credit repair professional is unsavory or that it is illegal. The fact remains that it is legal and has assisted thousands of people to recover from bad credit debts.

“…A few bad players in the credit repair industry should not deter you seeking recovery assistance from bad debts. You need to know and understand your rights on what you are allowed to do by the law in order to get your credit score fixed. Therefore, do not hesitate to get your credit repaired because to keep having a bad credit score can ruin you financially…” added H. Milla.

Need the best advice and suggestions that you can give me please.?

Question by marisol2626: Need the best advice and suggestions that you can give me please.?
I get desperate a lot of times when I cannot purchase what I want and when I need it. See, I now have real bad credit because when I bought my first home, which has been foreclosed now, I started to think the wrong way because I got all these offers of credit cards to use for stuff for my home. Well, I am really paying real tough for all of that now, because I realize that I cannot get credit cards anymore, not even one for a low limit, and I have felt so embarassed and useless so many times! You know, I am paying for all of my “dumb” “immature” thinking. I lost my home because my husband and I got seperated and I could not afford the home by myself, and then I had to just quit paying on my credit cards because I had so much debt! I am in the process of trying to repair my credit, with the help of someone who I can trust, but, it will take a long while I assume. I used to sell Avon when I was living in my new home, however, I even had bad organizing with that back then, and I think….
that my “depression sickness” made me not realize many things, because I did suffer through post partum/anxiety depression that got real bad for almost one year or more. I wish that I could get into selling Avon or Mary Kay sometimes to like help myself, and also, I am with my husband again and he was even working two jobs for awhile but we decided that he needed to spend more time with the kids, which was first, so he got out. I think that I could do something to add additional income for myself but I do not want to go back to selling Avon or something else because I have realized that my children are first and I used to not spend enough time with them when I sold Avon. I just get too desperate a lot of times and I have been recently trying to get a credit card for a low limit of like $ 500.00, to use and pay back on time where I can afford it but I cannot get approved anywhere of course. Advice or suggestions are appreciated but I do not need anymore smart remarks for what I have done

Credit Repair Help

The best way to go about finding credit repair help is to know exactly what is hurting your credit scores. There are many factors that can cause your scores to be low. You need to analyze your exact situation. Once you are able to identify the exact problem, you can begin doing research to come up with a solution.

There are many organizations offering help to consumers such as credit repair services, credit counseling services, debt consolidation, etc. But, which one, if any, is right for you? Once again, that all depends on your unique situation. Some financial services out there such as credit counseling, may help you reduce your debt, but at the same time hurt your credit.

Utilizing over 30% of your available credit can be a big factor in low scores. For some people, all they need to do to fix their credit is pay down some debt. The best way to go about paying off debt is setting up a budget and living below your means and maybe even finding a second job. Try to avoid playing high interest fees late payment fees on your loans. Transferring higher interest rate cards to lower interest rate cards can help you pay them down faster as well.

If you have negative items reporting on your credit reports, your best option may be credit report repair. Credit report repair consists of disputing negative accounts with the credit bureaus in hopes of getting them removed. After sending the credit bureau a dispute letter, they have 30 days to conduct an investigation and contact your creditors to verify the information they are reporting is valid. You can also dispute public records such as judgments, bankruptcies, foreclosures, tax liens and repossessions.

After writing a dispute letter to the credit bureaus, it’s also wise to send a debt validation letter to the creditors of any debt that you owe. The request must be done in writing and the creditors have also have 30 days to reply. If the creditors fail to reply or can not supply sufficient proof of your debt, they are required by law to delete the account in question from your credit history.

If they are able to properly validate the debt and the credit bureaus don’t remove it from your reports, the only options you may have left are to negotiate with the creditors. Try to get them to delete the account from your report in exchange for paying off the account.

It’s always smart to know where you stand before applying for a loan. If you apply for a loan knowing that your chances are slim of getting it, you’re foolish wasting an inquiry which will hurt your scores even more. Sign up for an online credit monitoring service. Stay on top of your credit report and always know what is being reported about you.
