Key things before applying for Granite cards

Lots of people are worried about their Granite card approval simply because of having very poor credit ratings. The reason why behind the fear is straightforward: if you want to restore your credit history, you absolutely need usage of credit services, one example is, a “bad credit” visa card. Upon getting that, then only it is easy to proactively begin to build your credit history.

Our own investigation works and selected interviews with Granite Visa card users and prospects convinced us to say this fact: a large portion of applicants are accepted within 48 hours, regardless how weak their credit reports are. As an example, we spoke to people who are approved despite the fact that they have many pending CCJ’s (County Court Judgments) on record. Besides, in some cases, those who are just cleared from personal bankruptcy are approved also. Does this indicates that Vanquis will probably just give the approval to just anyone?

The answer to that question is absolutely “No”, despite the statistics tell us that only a small percentage of applications are turned down.

If you are still worried about being refused, that should never, ever prevent you from trying. To tell you the truth, if you think that you are determined about repairing your credit, make sure you place the application as the first priority. The reason is, with no credit cards, you can’t even start to repair credit histories.

Perhaps you have requested your own Granite credit card? If no, we have great news for you: true, a huge number of people are approved in spite of suffering from very poor credit, you should still do a few things to enhance your chances of becoming approved. Other than that, you get a chance for having a much better offer from Vanquis – like a lower yearly interest and bigger borrowing limit.

Well, are you excited already? These are what you can do.

Firstly, be a responsible citizen and become a voter – put your name on the electoral roll, and ensure that your electoral roll’s address is the same as the address you applied for the card. This is a another way of telling Vanquis that you are for real, since banks are constantly worried about people “vanishing” to get rid of their debt repayments. Registering on the electoral roll helps you to keep the banks happy.

After this, get a copy of your credit reports from the major credit bureaus, for example Experian. You will want to scrutinise the reports, and try to see if any of the following are in there:

1) Have you been a prey of identity fraud?

2) If there are any unpaid CCJ’s, see if you can repay them to get a letter of satisfaction.

If you can afford to repay any of the CCJ’s by cheque or cash, we propose that you do so, so that you won’t pay more interests.

Usually, it is worth the money to use a professional credit card debt negotiator’s service – with the right person doing the job on your behalf, you usually get the best deals which you won’t get if you do it on your own.
